Welcome to Adkins, TX, where BBQ from Texas Pride is sought after by locals and tourists from all over. Cactus Land Brewing Company, which is a small artisan craft brewery, dedicated to brewing with local ingredients and high quality malt, is planting their roots and calling home.
About the Founders
Founded by Dustin and Erica Teague, this brewery is set to hit the ground running by producing small batch beers that may stand out from the surrounding craft beer scene in South Texas. The Teague’s started out as avid home brewers, and have medals to back up the success I hope for them to have on a commercial scale.
What really got my attention was Cactus Land Brewing’s vast styles of brews. Styles vary from Berliner Weisse, Saisons, New England/Northeast IPAs (NEIPA), to Porters. Their beer styles have been shared in detail via their Facebook page.
I’m already drooling over the Janice Peach – a berliner refermented with local peaches, not to mention the Opulent Cloud NEIPA, and Totanac Vanilla Porter which will be a few of the many releases. Make sure to attend the grand opening on January 21, 2017 where all 10 beers will be on tap.
Word on the street is that Weathered Souls Brewing Co has collaborated with CLBC to release a special tapping at the Grand Opening! The two breweries have teamed up to produce a NEIPA called New Hops On the Block that was insanely dry hopped and can be expected to release at Weathered Souls at a later date.
It seems like San Antonio area has so much great beer to look forward to. I can’t wait to check out this brewery, meet the Teague’s and taste some amazing sounding beers! I literally feel like a kid waiting for Christmas, but all I can do is stare at presents underneath the tree for now.
CLBC will be located at 368 County Rd 325 Unit B, Adkins, TX 7810101 and hours have not been determined yet (will update after Grand Opening). Be sure to visit them on Facebook as their grand opening will be a FREE registered attendee(s) event via Eventbrite as the ticket(s) will assist with helping to manage head counts. Cousins Maine Lobster will be the featured food truck on site.
